We are kicking off with one of our most loyal customers, who have been working with us since 2007…

What does d:class specialise in?
Automotive coach trimming – classic restorations, modern cars and super cars.
What is the best part of your job?
Oh, definitely working on the cars. The variety – from Maclaren F1s to supercars, to the restoration work on classics – it’s a joy.
Tell us about a project you are particularly proud of:
That’s a tricky one, as there are so many. I think it would have to be the Mercedes 600 Landaulet. It is one of only 59 cars ever made, so it was a real privilege to tackle this car, and restore it to its former beauty.

What’s the most challenging project you have ever tackled?
We were give a two week deadline to cover the interior of a London Routemaster bus for the owner’s son’s birthday.
We needed to turn the downstairs into a soft play area, and make sure the whole thing was totally child friendly.
Upstairs was converted into a more adult theme – leather seating, a bar area with stitched stools, and carpeting.
We worked with a variety of partners, so it was a big team effort, but took lots of planning and co-ordinating. I am really pleased with the end result – and so was the customer.
What is your favourite project using UK Hide leather?
The interior restoration of a Mercedes 1958 300SL Roadster. We used Old Timer in Bamboo. It’s just a beautiful vehicle as you can see…
